Fort McMurray Catholic Schools will reopen to students on Wednesday October 29, 2025.

As many may be aware, the Government of Alberta initiated a process to legislate members of the Alberta Teachers’ Association (ATA) back to work on Monday afternoon. Bill 2 - The Back to School Act- was passed late Monday evening in the Alberta Legislature. 

We want to express our heartfelt appreciation to our teachers, all staff and families for the dedication, patience  and care you have shown. We recognize the challenges this time has brought for all. We look forward to seeing our schools filled once again and our entire Fort McMurray Catholic Schools family together where we belong.

FORT MCMURRAY CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WILL REOPEN TO STUDENTS ON WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 29, 2025

School Calendar:

• Friday October 31 is now a full instructional day. This means students will be in class from Wednesday October 29 to Friday October 31 this week.
• On October 31, 2025 there will be no Out of School Care (OSC) available. 

School Operations:

Possible fee refunds 

• Yellow Bus Transportation - Once possible school calendar changes are finalized fee refunds will be considered and communicated with families. 
• Early Entry Program (EEP) - Once possible school calendar changes are finalized fee refunds will be considered and communicated with families.
