Good evening Fort McMurray Catholic Schools Family,

We wish to share an urgent and important update in regards to the potential labour disruption within our schools.

We have just been served with notice that the Ministry of Jobs, Economy and Trade has stepped in and established a Disputes Inquiry Board (DIB). This is a government imposed process that requires the parties to continue negotiations with a neutral third-party arbitrator.

This means there will be no strike tomorrow therefore, we are planning to operate all schools and programs as per normal tomorrow.

Our support staff are an integral part of Fort McMurray Catholic Schools and their contributions are critical to the success of our students, families and staff. We recognize the immeasurable value they add to our school communities.
