(FORT MCMURRAY, AB - February 13, 2024) -  At the Regular Board Meeting of the Fort McMurray Catholic Board of Education on February 12, 2024 the Board of Trustees passed a resolution for a by-election to be held on April 8, 2024. 

A by-election was necessitated by the resignation of a Trustee in November of 2023. In accordance with article 81(1)(3) of the Education Act, the Board must fill the vacancy by holding a by-election. While general election dates are set through legislation, school boards set their own by-election dates.
