Good afternoon all Fort McMurray Catholic Schools Families,

First and foremost, we want to extend our heartfelt wishes for a Happy New Year to each of you. We pray you have all had a restful and rejuvenating break full of love, family, and friends. We wish you all the very best for 2025. 

We’d like to take this opportunity to provide you with an update regarding CUPE Local 2559 strike activity expected next week.

At this time, we do not anticipate any strike action in our schools on Monday, January 6, 2025. However, should there be any changes or if we learn of potential strike activity for that day, we will notify you immediately via email and Edsby. If there are no changes, we will provide an update on Monday afternoon or evening, sharing the latest information for Tuesday, January 7.

We fully understand that receiving updates on a day-by-day basis can create uncertainty, and we recognize how this can be challenging for both families and staff. Please know we are doing everything we can to share this information as quickly as possible, as soon as we know which schools, if any, will be affected by strike activity the following day.
