Good afternoon Fort McMurray Catholic Schools families,

We know these are challenging times for our schools and in our community. Fort McMurray Catholic Schools remains dedicated to reaching a negotiated settlement with CUPE Local 2559. We acknowledge this job action is creating uncertainty for families and our staff, and we recognize this is a difficult time to navigate.

In our continued effort to find a resolution, we have formally requested to return to the bargaining table with CUPE Local 2559. They have accepted our invitation and a meeting is scheduled for tomorrow (Friday, January 24). 

We remain committed to finding a fair resolution as we aim to restore full operations in our schools as soon as possible.

Thank you for your grace, patience and understanding. We will continue to share updates with staff and all families when information is confirmed and can be shared.
