I was raised on a farm outside the small community of Provost, Alberta. After teaching in Czar, Alberta for two years, and married for a year, my husband and I chose to make Fort McMurray our home. During 38 years, as residents of Fort McMurray, we raised three beautiful daughters, each one a graduate of our Fort McMurray Catholic Schools. This past year, we were blessed with two beautiful grandchildren, strengthening our ties to Fort McMurray.
I recently retired after 38 fulfilling years as a teacher. 36 of those years I had the joy of being an elementary and music teacher in our Fort McMurray Catholic School Division. I taught at Ecole St. Paul, St. Gabriel, Good Shepherd and my last 15 years at St. Anne’s School. I always believed teaching was a vocation and I was blessed to nurture both faith and academic growth in the students I taught. As a Catholic educator I always believed I was called to serve God’s word. “Each of you should use whatever gifts you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace.”(1 Peter 4:10-11).
I am very honored to now serve our Catholic Schools as a Trustee. I want to work collaboratively with my fellow board members where Christ’s teachings guide our actions and decisions.I will be a strong advocate for quality Catholic Education where children can thrive academically and spiritually in a safe and inclusive environment. Feel free to contact me at
